After the earthquake, Li Hong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman Li Hong, and General Manager Jiang Zhe attached great importance to the safety of employees and expressed condolences to the front. South Pacific Regional Company (South Pacific Regional Headquarters of CREC) immediately activated the emergency plan, and Wang Hongming, Deputy General Manager of COVEC, went to the site the next day to coordinate and direct the earthquake relief work and condole with the project staff. There is no reports of casualties and structural damages so far.

All the branches in this region continued to cope with the aftershock disaster, organize excavators, bulldozers and other machinery and equipment to clean up collapsed sections, dredge roads, carry out rescue and relief work, actively carried out self-help and mutual help , and strived to restore construction work to pre-quake as soon as possible.
