On March 14, China Central Television’s International Finance and Economics Report aired a special program entitled “Chinese Brands Overseas: China’s TBM is passing through the ‘life river’ in Nepal”, which gave a detailed report on the use of China-made large TBM machine in Nepal Bheri Babai Diversion Multipurpose Project (BBDMP).

This project is led by China Overseas Engineering Group Co., Ltd(COVEC) and jointly undertaken with China Railway No.2 Group Co., Ltd. As one of the first Chinese enterprises to step into the fields of international contract business, industrial investment and overseas labor service, COVEC has undertaken large-scale infrastructure projects in dozens of countries ranging from Africa, the South Pacific and Southeast Asia for more than 30 years, and has gained outstanding market fame and popularity in the world. COVEC has implemented the “Belt and Road Initiative” to lead the construction of the BBDMP project and brought “Made in China” to the international community, further enhancing the influence of Chinese enterprises and Chinese manufacturing in the international market.

This key report on BBDMP project from CCTV during the “two sessions” spoke highly of the large-scale international projects undertaken by Chinese foreign economic and trade enterprises and showed the elegant demeanour of COVEC in implementing the “Belt and Road Initiative” and being a pioneer in paving the way.
